SRINAGAR, SEPT 28: Two unidentified terrorists were killed in an ongoing gunfight in the Adigam area of Kulgam district, South Kashmir, on Saturday, according to official reports.
A senior police officer confirmed to a news agency that the identities of the militants have yet to be ascertained as the encounter continues.
In the initial exchange of fire, four army soldiers and an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) from Kulgam were injured. All injured personnel are currently stable and receiving treatment at the Army’s 92 Base Hospital.
The operation began earlier when a joint team of police and army launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area. As the forces closed in on the suspected hideout, the militants opened fire, prompting a retaliatory response that escalated into a gunfight.
