JAMMU, AUGUST 30: A high-level joint Intelligence and Security Conference was held at Mamun Cantonment on Friday to strengthen security coordination ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections in Jammu & Kashmir. The conference was chaired by Lt Gen Rajan Sharawat, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 9 Corps, with Major General Vikram Sharma, GOC of the Gurj Division, in attendance.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma (IPS), participated in the meeting, along with DIG Pathankot-Amritsar Range, Sukhjinder Singh (IPS), and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP) from Kathua and Pathankot. The meeting aimed to foster inter-agency cooperation and bolster security measures in the region.

During the conference, Lt Gen Sharawat emphasized the importance of enhanced coordination between the Army, Police, and other security agencies to ensure the successful elimination of any terrorist infiltrating the region. He reiterated the commitment to maintaining peace and stability, particularly in light of the upcoming elections.

The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to strengthen security across the region, ensuring a safe and peaceful environment for the electoral process.
