JAMMU, OCT 29: The Indian Army, in a swift and coordinated operation with local law enforcement, successfully thwarted a terror ambush in the dense jungles of Battal, Jammu. The operation, which took place in the pre-dawn hours of on Monday, led to the elimination of three militants who had attempted to ambush an army convoy. The convoy suffered no casualties as troops responded immediately, forcing the attackers to retreat under intense resistance.

In a press briefing led by Maj Gen Sameer Srivastava, VSM, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 10 RAPID (H), details of the operation were shared. Joining him on the panel were Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS, DIG of the Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, and Brig Kapil Taneja, VSM, Commander of the 28 Infantry Brigade.

“Operating through the night in challenging terrain, our troops maintained comprehensive control over the area,” Maj Gen Srivastava remarked. Special Forces units were mobilized promptly to reinforce the cordon around the fleeing terrorists. The use of advanced technology, including night-vision surveillance devices, unmanned ground vehicles, and drones, allowed real-time tracking and ensured no potential escape routes for the militants.
