Special Forces Exercise

JAMMU, FEB 19: The third edition of the India-Egypt Joint Special Forces Exercise CYCLONE-III is currently underway at the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan. The 14-day military drill, which began on February 10, 2025, will continue until February 23, 2025.

As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, troops from both nations are undergoing rigorous combat conditioning and tactical training aimed at strengthening joint operational capabilities. The Indian and Egyptian Special Forces are demonstrating exceptional discipline, teamwork, and adaptability, showcasing their readiness to execute joint missions in complex environments.

The exercise includes advanced training in Close Quarter Battle (CQB) drills, Survival Techniques, Demolition Training, and Combat Medical Skills. These high-intensity drills focus on enhancing soldiers’ ability to operate effectively in desert and semi-desert terrain, emphasizing agility, endurance, and precision for seamless coordination during real-world combat operations.
The joint drill also offers the Egyptian contingent exposure to India’s indigenous defence technologies, highlighting India’s cutting-edge military capabilities. This collaboration strengthens tactical proficiency while deepening diplomatic and military ties between India and Egypt.

The exercise will culminate in an intense 48-hour validation phase, featuring simulated Counter-Terrorism (CT) operations. Both contingents will conduct joint tactical drills, neutralize simulated threats, and apply learned skills in high-pressure scenarios.

Exercise CYCLONE-III underscores the enduring defence cooperation between India and Egypt, reflecting their shared commitment to counter-terrorism and regional security. This high-intensity exercise not only enhances military interoperability but also reinforces the strong strategic partnership between the two nations.
