BANDIPORA, SEPT 22: : Harmeet Singh Mehta has been appointed as the new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Bandipora following the transfer of Lakshay Sharma, who was relieved from his post after completing his deputation tenure.
According to an official order, Mehta, a 2001 batch officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS), was previously serving as SSP Railways, Kashmir. His transfer and posting as SSP Bandipora were approved in the interest of administration, with the Election Commission of India granting clearance for the move.

Earlier, Lakshay Sharma, IPS, was repatriated to his parent cadre after completing his deputation in Jammu and Kashmir.
