Transfers, Deployments

SRINAGAR, NOV 02: The Directorate of Health Services (DoHS), Kashmir, on Saturday issued a new directive halting all transfers, deployments, and staff attachments within the region’s health department until the implementation of a revised transfer policy.

The decision, mandated by the Health & Medical Education Department, follows a recent review meeting chaired by the Health Minister on October 29, 2024.

According to the circular, the copy of which lies with The Newsroon 24 – Awaz stated that no transfers or deployments should be processed until the government enacts the updated policy. The directive highlights that any such changes should be limited to cases where the reassignment of personnel is essential for patient care at Government Health Care Institutions, such as hospitals.

In these instances, prior approval must be sought from the relevant administrative authorities, specifically from the Directorate for Gazetted Staff and the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir for Non-Gazetted Staff.

The circular also emphasizes that Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents, Block Medical Officers, and other department heads are responsible for enforcing this directive strictly, warning that any deviation from these instructions could result in disciplinary action.
