UDHAMPUR, DEC 24: A collaborative digital skilling initiative aimed at empowering the families of India’s soldiers was launched in Udhampur by the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) Northern Command and FICCI-FLO on Tuesday.

As per the release issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the program, attended by dignitaries and beneficiaries, is designed to provide essential skills to 100 Veer Naris and AWWA beneficiaries, fostering financial independence and better livelihood opportunities.

The launch was spearheaded by Asha Suchindra, Regional President AWWA, Northern Command; Joyshree Das Verma, National President FICCI-FLO; Reshma Patel, National Head, Digital Literacy Initiative; and Ruchika Gupta, Chairperson FICCI-FLO Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh (JK&L). The initiative seeks to honor and support the families of military personnel by equipping them with digital skills for entrepreneurial ventures or small businesses.

Speaking on the occasion, Joyshree Das Verma commended FICCI-FLO JK&L for its efforts to empower the Veer Naris, describing the women as “a source of true inspiration.” She reaffirmed FICCI-FLO’s commitment to creating sustainable livelihoods for women facing adversity, as a tribute to their courage and sacrifice.

Aarti Monga, General Secretary, AWWA Northern Command, expressed gratitude to FICCI-FLO for its dedication, highlighting the program’s transformative potential. “This initiative provides not only hope but also tangible pathways to financial independence for Veer Naris and AWWA beneficiaries,” she remarked. The program features pre-recorded modules and live sessions, ensuring accessibility and convenience. Participants will receive certificates recognized by Skill India and the National Skill Development Corporation, enhancing their employability and access to government schemes.

Ruchika Gupta shared insights into the program, emphasizing its role in fostering entrepreneurship and supporting military families. She reiterated FLO JKL’s ongoing collaboration with AWWA to honor women who have made immense sacrifices for the nation.

As part of the event, 100 HUNAR skilling kits were distributed to beneficiaries. The event was attended by FLO JKL core team members, including Varuna Anand, Aarti Choudhary, Sona Mehta, and Nandita Bajaj, along with other esteemed members.
