DODA, OCT 25: Cyber Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) of district Doda on Friday successfully traced and recovered 49 missing smartphones valued at approximately Rs. 7,53,973. Acting on numerous complaints from residents regarding lost mobile phones, the CCIU team, with technical assistance from the Electronic Surveillance Unit (ESU) Doda, located the devices across various states and Union Territories, including Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.
As per the Police release, the recovered smartphones were handed over to their rightful owners in a ceremony at the District Police Office Doda, presided over by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Mohd. Aslam, IPS.
Addressing the attendees, SSP Aslam advised the public to exercise caution with their mobile devices, as they often contain sensitive personal information that could be misused if lost or stolen.
The recovered devices brought a wave of relief and gratitude among the recipients, who lauded the dedication and efforts of the District Police Doda in retrieving their missing phones. “It’s a great relief to get back my phone, and I am grateful to the police team for their hard work,” expressed one of the recipients.
SSP Doda reiterated the importance of safeguarding personal mobile devices and encouraged the public to handle them carefully to prevent similar incidents in the future.
