DODA, FEB 24: In an effort to promote road safety and reduce traffic-related incidents, the Sohanda Battalion of the Delta Force on Monday organized a Joint Traffic Awareness Campaign at Khellani in Doda district on Saturday. The campaign was initiated to address the increasing number of road accidents in the region, primarily caused by narrow roads and risky driving practices.
As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the campaign focused on educating attendees about essential road safety measures, emphasizing the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts, and the use of in-built safety features in vehicles. Participants were also urged to follow traffic regulations, avoid drinking and driving, and refrain from using mobile phones while on the road.
A total of 41 people attended the event, including officials from Police Post Khellani, representatives from the Traffic Police, and the National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL). The local community expressed their gratitude towards the Indian Army for organizing the awareness drive and addressing such a vital concern.
The initiative reflects the Army’s ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of civilians in the region.
