Jammu, March 28:

In a significant move to strengthen the use of the Official Language within premier medical institutions, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu successfully organized a comprehensive one-day Hindi workshop on Friday.

The event, spearheaded by the institute’s Hindi Department, focused on bridging the gap between policy and practice, ensuring that officers and staff are well-versed in the constitutional and administrative rules governing the use of Hindi in government functioning.

Empowering Staff with Practical Skills

The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from various departments. Unlike traditional seminars, this session prioritized hands-on training. Participants were guided through:

  • Effective Noting and Drafting: Simplifying complex administrative language into clear Hindi.

  • Digital Integration: Practical sessions on Hindi typing and using localized software on computers.

  • Official Correspondence: Mastering the nuances of formal communication within the government framework.

Expert Insights: “Language is the Key to Efficiency”

The programme featured distinguished guest speakers who are veterans in the field of language implementation:

  1. Mr. Santosh Kumar (Assistant Director, Central Hindi Training Institute, Jammu)

  2. Mr. Sanjay Sharma (Member Secretary, Town Official Language Implementation Committee – TOLIC, Jammu)

During their addresses, the speakers emphasized that the Official Language Policy is not just a statutory requirement but a tool for better communication and transparency.

“Greater use of Hindi in government work doesn’t just fulfill a mandate; it improves the overall efficiency and reach of the administration,” noted the speakers during their interactive session.

Interactive Learning & Future Outlook

The workshop concluded with an intensive Q&A session where employees clarified technical doubts regarding official terminology and digital tools. The event is being hailed as a major milestone for AIIMS Jammu in its journey to integrate regional and national linguistic values into its world-class medical administration.

The proceedings ended with a formal vote of thanks, marking a successful step toward a more linguistically inclusive workspace.
