SSP Jammu Reviews Crime

JAMMU, OCT 25: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh (JKPS) on Friday chaired a comprehensive crime review meeting at Police Station R S Pura, focusing on criminal cases, public safety, and law enforcement in Sub-Division. The session was attended by the SP Headquarters Jammu, SDPO RS Pura, SHOs from RS Pura, Miran Sahib, Bishnah, and Arnia, along with in-charges of Border Police Posts (BPPs) within the jurisdiction.

Congratulating the officers and jawans for their role in ensuring peaceful assembly elections, SSP Singh highlighted the need for timely, effective resolution of cases, especially those related to the NDPS Act, Excise, bovine smuggling, and crimes against women and children. Reviewing each case in depth, SSP Singh stressed the importance of adhering to a time-bound, merit-based approach in investigations. Discussions also centered on community policing and drug abuse prevention, with strategies proposed to increase awareness, support rehabilitation, and enforce stricter control on drug-related activities in the district.

Directing officers to improve investigative quality, SSP Singh urged them to adopt advanced techniques and standard operating procedures for enhanced case disposal. SHOs were also instructed to maintain meticulous beat patrolling records and to ensure updated surveillance on known offenders, emphasizing the need for proactive measures to curb anti-national activities. Additional directives were issued to bolster checkpoints (nakas) and strengthen intelligence-gathering capabilities.

Following the meeting, SSP Singh held a Darbar for the jawans posted in the sub-division, listening to their grievances and assuring swift resolutions. A traditional Bada Khana was organized afterward, fostering camaraderie and team spirit among the personnel. Addressing the jawans, SSP Singh encouraged them to serve with integrity and commitment to deliver exemplary public service.
