Cyber Crime Investigation Unit

DODA, OCT 11: The Cyber Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) of Jammu & Kashmir Police in District Doda has successfully recovered ₹1,48,654 that had been defrauded online. The recovery was part of the unit’s continued efforts to combat cybercrime in the region.

According to a statement issued by J&K Police, complaints were filed by two individuals, Nasreena Begum, wife of Amir Hussain from Doda, and Feroz Ahmed Dar, son of Gh. Mohd Dar, a resident of Malpura, Tehsil Berwah, District Budgam, currently residing in Doda. Following the complaints, the CCIU team employed advanced technical skills to investigate and recover the defrauded amount.

This latest recovery adds to the significant progress made by the CCIU, which has successfully recovered a total of ₹26,26,688 since its establishment on February 7, 2024.

SSP Doda, Mohammad Aslam (IPS), commended the efforts of the CCIU team and urged the public to remain vigilant against cybercrime. He encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activity immediately to the National Cybercrime Helpline (1930) or file complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in. In case of lost or stolen mobile devices, the public is advised to report on www.ceir.gov.in.
