UDHAMPUR, DEC 03: Ashok Kumar, a 46-year-old Village Defence Guard (VDG) member from Chapper village in Latti-Marothi Tehsil, District Udhampur, was found dead in a forest near his village on Monday evening.
As per the release The Newsroom 24 – Awaz received said that Kumar’s body was discovered at around 6:30 PM after a tip-off was received at Police Station Latti. Preliminary investigations revealed that the death resulted from a gunshot wound.
An inquest proceeding has been initiated, and forensic examination along with the post-mortem findings indicate that the incident appears to be a case of suicide. Authorities have ruled out any terror-related angle in the matter.
Further investigation is ongoing to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding Kumar’s death.
