UDHAMPUR, SEPT 11: In a significant security operation, two unidentified Terrorists were killed during an encounter with security forces in the Khandara Top area of Udhampur district on Wednesday. The operation, which is still ongoing, was launched after intelligence inputs suggested the presence of militants in the area.
According to officials, the Terrorists were neutralized in a fierce gunfight that erupted earlier in the day. “The identities of the Terrorists are being ascertained, and a search operation is still underway to ensure no further threats in the vicinity,” officials said.
The operation was launched after security forces received specific intelligence about the Terrorists’ movement in the hilly terrain of Khandara Top. As forces closed in, the Terrorists opened fire, triggering a gun battle. The area remains cordoned off as security personnel continue their search for any other hidden militants or unexploded ordnance.
