The Christian Council of Ghana says so far it is impressed with the Electoral Commission’s arrangements ahead of Monday’s general elections.
Chairman of the Council The Most Rev Dr Paul Kwabena Boafo said the Commission has so far been open in their dealings with the public.
He explained that “the EC’s transparency instills confidence in the populace which will really ensure trust in the verdict”.
Speaking on Wonsom on Onua TV, the Christian Council of Ghana Chairman explained that “whenever there’s any allegations against the EC, they quickly respond and clear the air, so for me as the Christian Council Chairman, the Electoral Commission has been very open”.
“We hope that it trickles down to the election day to ensure free and fair elections.”
The Christian council further appealed to the general public to be law abiding with respect to electoral rules and regulations to ensure smooth and chaos-free elections to maintain Ghana’s peaceful ambience, which has made the country a pacesetter in Africa’s democracy.
