SRINAGAR, FEB 28: The School Education Department (SED) organized a one-day conference titled “Transforming Education for a Future-Ready Generation” at Women’s College, Srinagar, focusing on the successful implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking as the chief guest, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Education, Shantmanu, emphasized the collective efforts required to achieve the policy’s goals. He stated that continuous feedback from stakeholders is being sought to address challenges in implementing NEP 2020. He urged government institutions, NGOs, and other stakeholders to collaborate in streamlining the education system.
The ACS encouraged students to actively participate in both curricular and extracurricular activities, highlighting their role in shaping the future education landscape.
Director of School Education Kashmir, Dr. G.N. Itoo, presented a summary of the progress made in implementing NEP 2020. The conference also featured insights from renowned psychiatrist Dr. Mushtaq Marghoob.
As part of the event, the ACS released an Academic Planner for schools in Kashmir division. A panel discussion on “Transforming Education” was also held, featuring Professor Seema Naz, Principal of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE).
The event saw the participation of CEOs from various districts, principals of higher secondary schools, and representatives from voluntary organizations. Concluding the conference, the ACS felicitated meritorious students for their outstanding achievements in academics and other fields.
