SAMBA, MAR 16: Samba 11 emerged victorious in the final of the Samba Premier T-20 Cup, defeating District Administration Samba in a thrilling contest held at the Rani Suchet Singh Sports Stadium on Sunday. The tournament was jointly organized by the District Administration Samba and the Excise Department.

As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the final match saw an intense battle between the two teams. Batting first, Samba 11 set a competitive target of 163/8 in 20 overs. In response, District Administration Samba, led by Captain Abhishek Sambyal, put up a determined fight but fell short by 22 runs, managing 141/9 in the allotted overs.

Anku from Samba 11 was declared Player of the Match for his stellar performance, scoring 49 runs off 26 balls and taking 1 wicket for 39 runs in his four overs.

Following the match, Deputy Commissioner Samba Rajesh Sharma felicitated the players with trophies and lauded their efforts. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of fitness and sports, delivering a strong message of “Say No to Drugs.” He assured that similar tournaments would be organized regularly to promote a healthy and active lifestyle in the district.

The event witnessed the presence of Excise and Taxation Officer Anil Chandan, Tehsildar, DIO, former cricketer Surinder Bagal, and other officials, along with an enthusiastic crowd of local spectators.
