DODA, NOV 29: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) on Friday successfully recovered a kidnapped minor girl within 12 hours of the complaint being lodged in Doda.

As per the release issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the complaint was filed at Police Station Doda by Latief Mochi, a resident of Bali Dhar Dashnan, who reported that his sister’s daughter (name withheld) had been kidnapped by Asif Hussain, son of Mohd Ayoub, a resident of Gurian Mohalla, Kishtwar.

Acting swiftly on the complaint, an FIR (No. 291/2024) was registered under Section 137(2) BNS, and the police launched an investigation. Raids were conducted at multiple locations, with the team leveraging human intelligence and technical assistance. The operation was led by the SHO of Police Station Doda and the team from Police Post Bagla, under the supervision of DySP Headquarters and SSP Doda, Sandeep Kumar Mehta (JKPS).

The girl was successfully rescued from Kishtwar within 12 hours and handed over to her family after completing the necessary legal formalities. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
