JAMMU, DEC 01: Under Operation Kamdhenu, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) intensified their drive against bovine smuggling in Sub-Division Nagrota, rescuing 37 bovines in two separate actions and seizing four vehicles used in illegal transportation on Sunday.
As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, Police team of Police Post (PP) Sidhra has foiled three bovine smuggling attempt in which 25 bovines were rescued from vehicles bearing registration numbers: JK02DG/5387 (Canter), JK02CT/5899 (Mahindra), JK14K/3200 (Mahindra) at Naka Tawi Bridge, Sidhra.
Police informed that the drivers of the vehicle fled away from the spot and they have rescued 25 bovines and the vehicles seized.
In an another incident, the Police team of PP Manwal has rescued 12 bovines from a vehicle bearing registration number Jk05L 9217 (Canter) which was coming Batel towards Udhampur and when reached at Manwal near Kishanpur bridge.
The driver of the vehicle fled away from the spot and in this regard, a case FIR No. 261/2024 U/S 223/BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered in PS Jhajjar Kotli.
