04 Bovines Rescued, Vehicle Seized Under Operation Kamdhenu
JAMMU DEC 04: Jammu Police, under the ongoing Operation Kamdhenu, successfully thwarted a bovine smuggling bid in the Nagrota sub-division late Monday night.
A police team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station intercepted a Mahindra vehicle (registration number JK02DJ/3611) at the Suketar naka point. Upon being stopped, the driver fled under the cover of darkness, abandoning the vehicle.
During the operation, four bovines were rescued, and the vehicle was seized on the spot. A case under FIR No. 263/2024, Sections 223/BNS and 11 PCA Act, has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli.
Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend those involved in the smuggling attempt. The operation underscores the district’s intensified efforts to crack down on bovine smuggling activities.
