RAJOURI, NOV 23: In a decisive move to curb anti-national and criminal activities in Rajouri district, police have detained a notorious Overground Worker (OGW) under the Public Safety Act (PSA) on Saturday.
As per the release issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the accused, identified as Abdul Qayoom alias Punjabi, son of Sher Mohammad and a resident of Jajote Kandu, Tehsil Qila Darhal, has a history of involvement in multiple anti-national and criminal cases registered at Police Station (PS) Nowshera.
Abdul Qayoom’s activities were deemed a significant threat to internal security, public peace, and social harmony. Acting on his repeated involvement in such unlawful activities, the District Magistrate of Rajouri issued a detention order under the PSA, leading to his arrest and subsequent lodging in jail.
The Rajouri Police have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring public safety and maintaining peace in the region, emphasizing their resolve to counter threats posed by anti-national elements.
