LEH, JAN 03: The Ladakh Regional Ice Hockey Championship 2025, organized by the Fire and Fury Corps, took place from Tuesday to Thursday at the Gupuk Ice Rink in Leh. The final matches were held on 30 January, bringing together seven teams from various regions of Ladakh for a competitive and thrilling event.
As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, Major General DK Singh, SM, VSM, Chief of Staff of Fire and Fury Corps, felicitated the winning teams, best player, and best goalkeeper during the closing ceremony. Shri Tsering Angchuk, Deputy Chief Executive Councillor of the LAHDC, and Shri Nawang Gyapo, President of the Sports Association Ladakh, were also present at the event, showing their support for the initiative.
The Fire and Fury Corps continues to promote Ice Hockey in Ladakh through several initiatives, including the construction of Ice Hockey rinks, provision of Ice Hockey kits, and the organization of various tournaments.
These efforts, carried out under Operation Sadbhavana, aim to foster sportsmanship, promote good health, and boost winter tourism in the region, further strengthening the bond between the local community and the Indian Army.
