Celebrated broadcast journalist, Roland Walker, has expressed excitement being back to the Media General Group, owners and operators of TV3, 3FM, Onua TV, Onua Fm, Akoma FM, Connect FM, 3news.com and Adesa Productions Limited (APL).

The Media General group announced Monday, September 7, via its social media handles the addition of Roland Walker and welcomed him.

An artwork with his picture on it reads “From all of us, welcome back home, Roland Walker”.

Having returned after Seven (7) years, the ace broadcaster tells 3news.com he is glad to be back to his roots.

“It feels great to be back. It’s a company I know very well. There are lots of experienced people here that I’m happy to be working with.  I have lots of good friends here. Guys like Alfred Ocansey, Johnnie Hughes, Stephen Anti and Abu Issa Monnie”, he said.

In October 2013, Mr. Walker announced his resignation from the Media General Group and moved into corporate communications, an experience he describes as a learning curve.

“It was a worthwhile experience. The experience was very good and it’s still something that comes in handy to me”, he observed.

On why he made the comeback, Mr. Walker explained, “Media General was always in the picture when the time was due to move on.”

After seven years, Mr. Walker says media landscape has changed a lot but he believes the Media General Group has the right personnel to continue leading the journalism market in Ghana.

Meanwhile colleagues and friends have already taken to social media to welcome him back to the company.
