JAMMU, OCT 28: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu, under the guidance of its Director, Prof. B.S. Sahay, welcomed a group of bright students from Army Public School (APS), Udhampur, for a campus tour aimed at offering an immersive experience in management education and career opportunities. This initiative, part of IIM Jammu’s ongoing community engagement efforts, sought to inspire young minds by providing them with a glimpse into higher education and leadership pathways at one of India’s premier management institutes.
As per the release issued here, led by teachers Sonika Rajput and Rakesh Sharma, 22 students from Class XII (Commerce Stream) explored IIM Jammu’s advanced facilities. Their tour included notable areas like the Nalanda Library, modern classrooms, the Mandapam Auditorium, Kautilaya MDP block, Executive Education Classrooms, an upcoming amphitheatre, the cafeteria, and collaborative spaces.
Students also viewed an audiovisual presentation showcasing IIM Jammu’s academic journey, achievements, and extensive offerings, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of the institute’s growth.
In addition to the tour, the students attended a career counseling session organized by the Public Relations office, where they gained valuable insights into IIM Jammu’s diverse programs and the application process for IIMs. The interactive session enabled students to explore career options in fields such as management, finance, and entrepreneurship, with a Q&A session allowing them to seek advice and clarify doubts about their future academic and professional pursuits.
The students and their teachers expressed gratitude for the warm reception and invaluable exposure to management education, highlighting how the experience enhanced their motivation to pursue ambitious academic goals. IIM Jammu remains dedicated to fostering educational outreach and excellence, aligning with its mission of nurturing future leaders and catalysts for change.
