Former Hearts of Oak striker Moses Andoh has said there is no way the club will win the Ghana Premier League anytime soon.
Speaking on Onua Sports Arena on Onua FM, the former Hearts of Oak finisher said the team has quality players, but they need to be allowed to grow in order to get needed results.
“The coach must maintain players for at least three seasons to further hone their skills, and not buy new players and immediately expect results. They need to grow,” the former finisher said in Twi.
He said it will take a lot of motivation and tactical experience on the field to succeed.
Moses Andoh also underscored the need for morale, stating there is little support from fans these days.
The former striker made reference to his days as a player and how chants from fans at the stadium boosted the team’s morale and made them do better on the field.
He further said the coach needs to be firm and direct his players to play in their natural positions because some of the players are fielded at positions they are not very good at.
According to him, until these changes are made, it will take years for the club to lay hands on the Premier League title again.
“If anyone tells you Hearts of Oak can win the league in the next five years, they’re lying to you, because the team needs to stick to the club’s tradition. They have drifted from Hearts of Oak’s tradition. They can’t win it, mark it on the wall,” Moses Andoh said.
Andoh played for the Phobians in the 2000s and was part of the team that won the FA cup, Premier League and the CAF Champions League.
