Lal Draman Winter Festival

DODA, JAN 31: The District Administration of Doda, led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh, is finalizing arrangements for the Lal Draman Winter Festival 2025, scheduled to take place on February 8 (Saturday). A review meeting was held today in the Mini Meeting Hall at the DC Office Complex to ensure the smooth execution of the event.

The festival is being organized in collaboration with the Tejas Ek Pahal Foundation (NGO), the Tourism Department, and the Indian Army. The meeting was attended by officials from the civil and police administration, representatives of Tejas Ek Pahal Foundation, and various departmental officers, including those from the R&B, PHE, and Food Departments.

The event will feature an array of activities such as singing competitions, cultural programs, traditional Daku dance performances, sports events, local art exhibitions, and food stalls showcasing regional cuisine. Departmental stalls will also be set up to engage and educate attendees.

Specific responsibilities for the event were entrusted to different departments to ensure seamless planning. The Police and Army will manage security and traffic arrangements, while the Forest Department will conduct a plantation drive in collaboration with the Tourism Department and Rural Development Department. These teams will also oversee waste disposal, sanitation, the cleaning of Amrit Sarovar, and the development of scenic viewpoints. The Jal Shakti Department will ensure the provision of drinking water, while the District Youth Services and Sports Department will organize sports events. The R&B Department is tasked with the restoration of the Lal Draman road, and the Motor Vehicle Department will arrange buses for transporting volunteers.

DC Harvinder Singh urged all departments to coordinate effectively to ensure the success of the festival. He highlighted the significance of the event in promoting local culture and tourism in the district.
