SAMBA, FEB 25: The Nations Development Association, in collaboration with MyBharat NYK Jammu under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, successfully organized a District Level Sports Meet at The Shri Ram Universal School, Jakh. The event celebrated athleticism, sportsmanship, and community spirit, drawing participation from several youth clubs and schools across the district.
As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the sports meet featured a range of competitions that highlighted the talents and dedication of young athletes. Among the participating teams were Barjani Youth Club, Ramgarh Club, Rahian, Khanwal Club, SRC Club, and The Shri Ram Universal School. The event saw intense yet friendly competition across various sports categories.
The winners in different categories were:
- Race: Jatin Kumar
- Rope Skipping: Lakshmi Shukla
- Shot Put: Gautam
- Kho-Kho: The Shri Ram Universal School
- Badminton: Priya Choudhary and Pranamya Tripathi
- Volleyball: Barjani Club
The event was graced by several distinguished guests who inspired the young athletes with their encouraging words. Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA Ramgarh and Former Minister for Health & Medical Education J&K, attended as the Chief Guest. Sanjeev Gupta, Chairman of The Shri Ram Universal School, was the Guest of Honour, while Darshan Singh, Former Chairman BDC, participated as the Special Guest.
Other notable attendees included Former Sarpanch Bhagwaan Singh and Tajinder Singh, Former Vice Chairman of the Municipal Committee Ramgarh Anil Gupta, President Ramgarh Nancy Choudhary, and President Sawankha Naveen Sharma.
Sushil Singh Charak, Founder cum Chief Functionary of the Nations Development Association and the principal organizer of the event, expressed his deep gratitude to The Shri Ram Universal School for serving as the Venue Partner and for providing excellent facilities that contributed to the smooth execution of the sports meet. “The event would not have been possible without the generous support and cooperation of the school management,” he said.
