REASI, NOV 29: The Cyber Cell of Reasi district has successfully refunded ₹2,35,800 to two victims of investment scheme-related scams, demonstrating swift action and efficient investigation.

The victims, Abneesh Kumar and Amandeep Singh, were duped of ₹1,40,000 and ₹95,800, respectively, through fraudulent investment apps and links. However, the Cyber Cell’s timely efforts ensured the recovery of the lost funds, providing relief to the victims.

In light of the rising incidents of online scams, the Cyber Cell has urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to investment schemes that promise unrealistically high returns. Citizens are advised to report suspicious online activities to the National Cybercrime Helpline (1930) or file complaints on www.cybercrime.gov.in.

Additionally, District Police Reasi has cautioned against the trending “Digital Arrest Scams,” which exploit fear to defraud innocent people. The police emphasize the importance of awareness and proactive reporting to combat such cybercrimes effectively.
