DODA, NOV 09: The Cyber Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) of Doda organized a Cyber Awareness Day at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS), Doda, with the aim of raising awareness about cybercrime and promoting cyber security practices among the general public on Saturday. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and non-academic staff of the institution.
As per the release issued here, in his address, the Incharge of CCIU Doda delivered insightful lectures to the attendees, focusing on the growing threats posed by cybercrime and the importance of vigilance in online interactions. Participants were informed about the official cybercrime portal and were educated on the prevalent tactics used by fraudsters, including credit card scams, OTP and QR code frauds, online gaming scams, and fake loan offers.
The session emphasized the need for individuals to remain cautious and vigilant, particularly when engaging with unknown persons on social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Twitter.
The Incharge further cautioned attendees on the importance of maintaining secure social media accounts to prevent unauthorized access and potential scams. He also delivered an informative lecture on the CIA Triad – Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability – and its significance in cybersecurity, along with topics like access control mechanisms, the use of CCTV, Personal Security Officers (PSOs), and effective crowd control measures.
The event successfully heightened awareness and equipped participants with essential knowledge and tools to protect themselves in an increasingly digital world.
