RAJOURI, JULY 23:The Indian Army soldier who was critically injured during exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces in Battal area of KG Sector Mendhar of Poonch district succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
Official sources told The Newsroom 24 Awaz that an infiltration bid was foiled by Army in Battal sector, Rajouri -Poonch during exchange one soldier identified as Subhash was critically injured. He was immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries, they said.

Earlier, Indian Army wrote on the micro-blogging platform X, “Alert troops foiled an infiltration bid by effectively engaging infiltrating terrorists with effective fire in the Battal Sector of Rajouri -Poonch at 0300h. During the exchange of heavy fire, one braveheart has been injured. Operations are continuing.”
