JAMMU, APRIL 14: 76-year-old former Union Minister and Ex-CM J&K, Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday dissolved all the units of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP). But the veteran leader has yet to disclose the future course of action.

Ghulam Nabi Azad Chairman of the DPAP has dissolved all party units, including state, provincial, zonal, district, and block-level committees, as well as the positions of chief spokesperson and other spokespersons, a former spokesperson of DPAP confined to TNR 24 Awaz.

Sources close to Azad added that the decision was made with the chairman’s approval, paving the way for a comprehensive restructuring of the party.

However, Azad is yet to reveal his future course of action, but the party sources said that there are two options, either Azad will restructure the party with a new name or may also join some national party along with all his leadership in J&K.

Azad who had not shown interest in the last Assembly elections in J&K, forcing his close lieutenants in the party to comtest the elections Independently.

“Azad Saab may join some national party on a senior position”, a close confident of Azad disclosed on the conditions of not quoting his name.

Azad, who resigned from Congress party in August 2022, formed his own political party in September 2022 with around two dozen leaders from Congress in J&K left the party and joined Azad’s political outfit. But later many of them resigned DPAP and returned to Congress.
