JAMMU, DEC 10: Army Public School (APS) Kaluchak has brought laurels to the region by securing the second position at the prestigious National Innovation Award 2024, held at the Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET). The school was awarded a cash prize of ₹5,100 for their innovative project, OPTINAV, under the ‘Communication’ category.
As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the groundbreaking project, OPTINAV, focuses on underwater communication using laser beams, offering a futuristic solution to enhance Naval communication capabilities. The project, developed by two Class 11 students, Abhishek Chahal and Dhruv Sharma, captivated the judges with its potential to revolutionize underwater communication technologies.
The competition was fierce, with 240 teams from colleges and universities across India showcasing their innovative ideas. The achievement of APS Kaluchak stood out as a shining example of school-level ingenuity thriving on a national platform.
The award was presented by Dr. Kiran Bedi, IPS, and former Lt. Governor of Puducherry, lending prestige to the accomplishment. Speaking about the achievement, school representatives highlighted their commitment to fostering creativity and technical excellence among students, inspiring them to excel in STEM fields at both national and international levels.
