Drug Peddler Arrested

UDHAMPUR, MAR 29: The District Police Udhampur on Friday arrested a drug peddler and seized 5.70 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession during a routine patrol in the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur.

As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, a police team led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Udhampur was on patrolling duty when they noticed a suspicious individual attempting to flee. The suspect, identified as Uttam Kumar Sharma, son of Kartar Chand, a resident of Mand and currently residing at Ward No. 01, Subash Nagar, Udhampur, was intercepted and frisked.

Upon searching him, the police recovered 5.70 grams of a heroin-like substance. Sharma was immediately taken into custody, and a case under FIR No. 95/2025 has been registered against him under relevant sections of the law at PS Udhampur.

Authorities have launched a further investigation into the case to uncover any potential links to a larger drug network
