Republic Day Contingent 2025

JAMMU, JAN 31: The Raj Bhawan in Jammu came alive with pride as Lt Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, hosted the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Republic Day Contingent (RDC) 2025, recognizing their exceptional achievements and dedication. The cadets, who represented the region at the prestigious Republic Day Camp in Delhi, were celebrated for their unwavering spirit and hard work.

The event began with an interactive session on the Raj Bhawan Lawn, where the Lt Governor engaged with the cadets. He praised their efforts, listening to their inspiring experiences and acknowledging their role in representing Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on a national platform. A cultural performance by the RDC contingent captivated the audience, with a group song and an energetic dance, “Hum Ek Hain Hum Shreshta Hain,” symbolizing India’s unity in diversity.

Two cadets shared their transformative journeys, narrating tales of resilience and growth throughout the challenging Republic Day training. Their stories highlighted the significant impact of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in shaping the young leaders of tomorrow.

Lt Governor Manoj Sinha presented Certificates of Excellence to the cadets for their outstanding contributions to the contingent’s success. Notably, JUO Abida Afreen was awarded the Raksha Mantri Commendation Card for her exemplary performance and has been selected to scale Mt. Everest later this year. SUO Ekta Kumari, who was chosen as the Contingent Commander for the All India NCC Girls Contingent, led the contingent during the Republic Day Parade and earned appreciation from the President of India.

Cadets such as Alankrita (APS, Udhampur), Lt Nitika Kundan (NIT, Srinagar), and Second Officer Ashaq Hussain (GHS, Machail) were also honoured with DG NCC Commendation Cards for their exceptional contributions during the camp. Furthermore, 01 Officer, 1 JCO, and 8 cadets were awarded the prestigious DG NCC Medallions for their extraordinary performance.

Maj Gen A. Bevli, VSM, Additional Director General of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Directorate, presented a memento to Hon’ble Lt Governor Manoj Sinha as a token of appreciation for his ongoing support of the NCC’s initiatives.

In his address, Manoj Sinha commended the cadets for their discipline, perseverance, and excellence, emphasizing the crucial role of NCC in shaping responsible and patriotic citizens. He also expressed special recognition for SUO Ekta Kumari, whose leadership brought immense pride to the UT of J&K.

Manoj Sinha also shared five resolutions with the cadets, urging them to focus on national development, societal improvement, responsibility, progress, and participation. These resolutions were framed as guiding principles for their future endeavors in service, leadership, and nation-building. The event concluded on a high note, with attendees feeling inspired and proud of the achievements of the cadets, reinforcing the NCC’s essential role in shaping the future leaders of the nation.
