JAMMU, OCT 30: Major General Rajesh Kumar Sachdeva, Additional Director General (ADG) of the NCC Directorate Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh (JK&L), retired on Wednesday, marking the end of a distinguished 37-and-a-half-year military career. Known for his commitment and strategic leadership, Major General Sachdeva’s tenure was celebrated in a ceremonial farewell at the NCC Directorate on Canal Road.
As per the release issued here, throughout his nearly four decades of service, Major General Sachdeva completed numerous high-ranking courses and held key appointments across operational and administrative roles within the Army.
During his tenure as ADG of the NCC Directorate JK&L, he significantly enhanced the achievements and recognition of the NCC units, spearheading a record number of training programs and projects. Under his leadership, the directorate saw an unprecedented level of cadet engagement, with thousands joining the defense and belt forces.
Major General Sachdeva’s initiatives brought the directorate to new heights, including the introduction of over 25,000 cadets to artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, a first for the region. His contributions were acknowledged by the Governors of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir, who awarded Unit Citations to the NCC.
In his farewell address, Major General Sachdeva encouraged all personnel to continue their work in empowering and shaping the youth, emphasizing the importance of the NCC’s role in building a disciplined and skilled young generation.
