JAMMU, OCT 27: On the solemn occasion of the 23rd Balidaan Diwas, Police, alongside the people of R.S. Pura, on Sunday gathered to honor the memory of Dy.SP Davinder Sharma, also known as Jattu, and Head Constable Gurbachan Singh, who lost their lives in service at Billawar in 2001. The commemoration was held near Gandhi Memorial Park at R.S. Pura, where floral tributes were paid by senior police officials, family members, batchmates, and locals.
As per the release issued here, the memorial ceremony, organized by Jammu Police in collaboration with the R.S. Pura community, saw attendance from dignitaries including SSP Jammu, SP Headquarters, SDPO R.S. Pura, SHO PS R.S. Pura, as well as batchmates of Dy.SP Davinder Sharma and numerous citizens. The large gathering underscored the respect and gratitude felt for the martyrs’ sacrifices.
Speaking at the event, SSP Jammu paid tribute to the martyrs, acknowledging their courage and dedication. “Both of them, along with other martyrs from the soil of R.S. Pura, have made us proud, and we can never forget their supreme sacrifice for the motherland,” he remarked.
