SRINAGAR, MAR 26: At least 12 people were injured when a bus traveling from Jammu to Srinagar met with an accident inside the Banihal-Qazigund Navyug Tunnel on Wednesday evening.
The accident occurred while the bus was passing through the tunnel, leading to injuries among the passengers. Officials confirmed that all the injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, from where five were later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for advanced treatment.
Medical Superintendent of Qazigund Hospital, Dr. Shugfta Salaam, stated that the hospital received multiple injured persons, out of whom five were transferred to GMC Anantnag for further medical care.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident while ensuring medical assistance to the injured passengers.
