Three terrorists spotted in Panjtirthi area at Jasrota-Billawar Borders
JAMMU, APRIL 01: Ten day long anti-terrorist operation continued on Tuesday in Jasrota-Billawar hilly forest terrains of Kathua district after a contact established with terrorists on Monday evening.
According to Police Sources, three Pakistani terrorists have been spotted and trapped by joint teams of Security Forces since Monday night in Panjtirthi near srurrounded by Ramkote and Suffain areas. “One terrorist killed, another injured,” the unconfirmed sources added, while operation is on.
The operation that started with the spotting of five heavily armed terrorists in Sanyal village of Hirnagar near Indo-Pak Border on March 23 evening, when a fierce encounter witnessed between the terrorists and a small team of Jammu Kashmir Police (JKP) led by SHO Hirnagar, Ashish Sharma. Later, the terrorists fled from the trap and shifted their location towards upper side of Jammu-Pathankot National Highway.
Since, March 23, the operation continued to trap the fleeing terrorists and finally the group of approximately five terrorists trapped on March 27 morning in Suffian village surrounded by mountainous forest area of Juthana under jurisdiction of police station Raj Bagh.
The encounter continued for two days and JKP lost its four bravehearts and two Pakistani terrorists of Jasih-e-Mohammad Terrorist outfit were eliminated by Security Forces.
“We have eliminated two Pakistani terrorists, but operation is still alive as there are chances of presence of few more terrorists,” DGP J&K, Nalin Prabhat told media after encounter.
On March 30 evening, a local family of Suffian Village informed Police that three armed persons (terrorists) sneaked into their house and asked for food and water. “They had food also got packed food and left in few minutes,” the woman informed media.
Meanwhile, security forces cordoned the area and started searches, which continued till Monday evening and an alert was sounded in the adjoining areas of Billawar, Ramkote, Hiranagar too.
Finally, the contact with the terrorists established by a team of Security Forces in Panjtirthi area on Monday late evening and the encounter began.
Till last news came in, searches continued and heavy deployment have been made in the area.
