The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu celebrated its 2nd Institute Day on February 24, 2026, marking its transformation into a premier national hub for healthcare, research, and medical education. The event, themed around “Unity and Excellence,” brought together top medical leadership and the academic fraternity to honor the institution’s rapid growth.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished leaders in the medical field who emphasized the institute’s role in shaping the future of Indian healthcare.

Prof. (Dr.) D. N. Sharma, Executive Director & CEO, reaffirmed the commitment to building a “research-oriented ecosystem” aligned with national health priorities.

Lt. Gen. (Dr.) C. S. Narayanan, President of AIIMS Jammu, described the institute as an entity designed to “shape knowledge and transform society,” urging young doctors to balance technology with empathy and ethical conduct.

Major Milestone: Final NABH Accreditation
A highlight of the celebrations was the announcement of a historic achievement: AIIMS Jammu has received the Final NABH Accreditation for a four-year period, effective from January 15, 2026, to January 14, 2030. This accreditation serves as a gold standard for quality and patient safety, placing the hospital among the elite healthcare providers in the country.
