Jammu, Feb 19:
Alert troops of the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps successfully thwarted a major infiltration attempt by terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir during the early hours of Thursday.
The operation took place in the Nathua Tibba area of the Sunderbani sector, where suspicious movement was detected through a combination of intelligence inputs and round-the-clock surveillance.
Swift and Calibrated Response
Upon detecting the movement of terrorists attempting to cross the border, the Indian Army responded with swift and “calibrated fire.” The proactive engagement forced the infiltrators to retreat, effectively foiling the bid before they could gain a foothold on the Indian side.
Integrated Surveillance & Domination
Following the incident, the Army has repositioned its troops to ensure complete domination of the rugged terrain. The area is currently under a high-tech security blanket, utilizing:
-
Integrated Ground Surveillance: Increased foot patrolling and sensor-based monitoring.
-
Aerial Surveillance: Deployment of drones (UAVs) to track any remaining suspicious activity in the dense forest areas.
-
Operational Alert: A high state of readiness is being maintained across the entire Rajouri-Poonch sector.
“Our troops are suitably repositioned and re-oriented to ensure comprehensive domination of the area. A high state of operational alert continues,” the White Knight Corps stated in an official communication.
Search Operation Ongoing
Official sources confirmed that a massive search operation was launched immediately after the exchange of fire to ensure no remnants of the group are hiding in the vicinity. Security has been further tightened in the border belts of Rajouri and Sunderbani to prevent any further misadventure from across the border.
This foiled attempt comes amidst a period of heightened vigilance in the Jammu division, as security forces continue to maintain a “zero-tolerance” policy toward cross-border infiltration.
