New Delhi, January 15:

In a poignant ceremony celebrating life beyond the uniform, a distinguished veteran has been conferred with the prestigious Veterans Achiever’s Award by the Chief of the Indian Army. The award recognizes exceptional contributions to society, specifically in the fields of education, Indian Knowledge Systems, and national economic frameworks.

From Battlefields to Classrooms

The recognition highlights a seamless transition from military service to intellectual nation-building. The veteran’s work has been particularly lauded for its focus on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), with a deep-dive research into Arthashastra, bringing ancient Indian wisdom into modern academic and governance contexts.

Furthermore, the creation of GSTT (Goods and Services Tax Tool/Framework) was cited as a significant contribution to the country’s evolving economic landscape, proving that a soldier’s strategic mindset can solve complex civilian challenges.

“Service Only Evolves”

While accepting the honour, the awardee remained humble, dedicating the achievement to the mentors and institutions that supported this journey.

“This recognition truly belongs to every mentor, collaborator, and institution that believed in the power of knowledge, values, and service beyond uniformed life,” the veteran stated. “My work has always been guided by a simple belief: nation-building does not end with service, it only evolves.”

A Legacy of Continued Service

The Indian Army, through this award, continues to highlight that its personnel remain “sentinels of the nation” even after hanging up their boots. By focusing on education and the revival of indigenous knowledge, the awardee has set a new benchmark for veteran integration into social development.

The ceremony concluded with a renewed pledge to continue contributing to society with “deeper purpose and greater responsibility.”
