Jammu, Dec 31:

In a sharp escalation of rhetoric following reports of violence against minorities, the Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit has called on the Modi government to terminate all “friendly relations” with Bangladesh.

Addressing a press conference at the party’s state headquarters, Manish Sahni, State President of Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K, stated that the targeted killing of Hindus on foreign soil—specifically in Bangladesh and Canada—can no longer be tolerated.

Sahni highlighted a disturbing pattern of violence, noting that in the last ten days alone, three Hindu youths have been brutally murdered in Bangladesh and two in Canada.

“The time has come for the Center to take a decisive stand. Attacks on Hindus globally must be viewed as an attack on India itself,” Sahni told reporters.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader proposed a series of aggressive measures to pressure foreign governments into ensuring the safety of Hindu minorities: Immediate termination of electricity exports to Bangladesh as a diplomatic deterrent. A call for the Modi government to convene a special session to pass a resolution declaring that violence against Hindus abroad warrants appropriate retaliatory action by the Indian state. A total freeze on friendly ties and bilateral cooperation with the interim government in Bangladesh.

The press conference comes amid reports of the lynching of individuals like Dipu Chandra Das and Amrit Mandal in Bangladesh, incidents that have triggered widespread condemnation from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and various human rights groups.

Sahni argued that “hollow condemnations” are insufficient and that India must adopt a policy similar to other global powers that act decisively when their citizens or ethnic communities are targeted abroad.

“The blood of Hindus is not cheap,” Sahni concluded. “If foreign governments cannot protect our brothers, India must use its leverage to hold them accountable.”
