JAMMU, FEB 03: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah praised the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets from Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh for their exemplary performance during the Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. He made these remarks while interacting with 127 cadets from the region who participated in the national event.

The interaction program was attended by Minister for Youth Services & Sports Satish Sharma, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Additional Chief Secretary to the CM Dheeraj Gupta, Additional Director General of NCC Directorate Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh, Major General Anupinder Bevli, and other senior army officers and dignitaries.

Highlighting a remarkable achievement, the Chief Minister applauded a Jammu and Kashmir girl cadet who led the all-women NCC contingent at the Republic Day Parade. “This is a proud moment for our region. Her leadership on the national stage reflects Jammu and Kashmir’s commitment to discipline and unity,” he said.

He commended the cadets for their dedication and the spirit they displayed at the event, emphasizing that their participation symbolized the vibrant culture and potential of the region. “Your presence on Kartavya Path was not just about personal achievement but a representation of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh on a global platform,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister also praised the cadets for securing third place in the cultural competition held as part of the Republic Day celebrations. “Your performance infused with our rich traditions captivated audiences and brought honor to J&K,” he added.

Sharing his personal experiences as an NCC cadet during his school days, Omar Abdullah reflected on the values of leadership and discipline instilled by the program. He underscored the NCC’s transformative role in shaping young minds and urged cadets to uphold its values of service and integrity.

Encouraging the cadets to be role models in their communities, he urged them to contribute towards addressing social challenges such as drug abuse. “Your leadership extends beyond parades and uniforms. Use your influence to guide your peers towards a path of discipline and responsibility,” he said, aligning his message with the national initiative for a drug-free society.

On the occasion, several NCC cadets from Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh shared their experiences from the Republic Day Camp in Delhi, recounting their learnings and achievements.
