JAMMU, NOV 27: National Cadet Corps (NCC) Cadet Dhruv Sharma from the NCC Directorate of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh (JK&L) has been selected to represent India in Bhutan as part of the prestigious Youth Exchange Programme (YEP).

As per the handout issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the programme is scheduled from December 12 to December 18, 2024. Cadet Dhruv Sharma, a student of SPMR College and a member of the 2 J&K Battalion NCC, earned this opportunity through rigorous selection during the Republic Day Parade 2024 in New Delhi. He was chosen from among cadets representing 17 directorates across the country.

In a pre-departure interaction, Brigadier Pranab Misra, Officiating Additional Director General of the NCC Directorate JK&L, congratulated Cadet Dhruv on his achievement. “This is an excellent opportunity for you to understand the traditions, culture, and ethos of Bhutan. Make the most of this experience and represent India with pride,” Brigadier Misra encouraged.

The Youth Exchange Programme is an integral part of NCC’s vision to provide cadets with holistic development opportunities and foster international relationships at a grassroots level. Through such initiatives, cadets gain exposure to diverse cultures, promoting stronger ties between nations on a citizen-to-citizen basis.

Cadet Dhruv expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity, vowing to make the country proud during his visit to Bhutan.
