NEW DELHI, OCT 29: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Wednesday inaugurated a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Census Building in New Delhi, paying tribute to the leader known as the “Iron Man of India.” During the event, Shah also launched the Civil Registration System (CRS) mobile application, a new digital initiative aimed at simplifying the registration of births and deaths nationwide.

Highlighting Sardar Patel’s legacy, Shah posted on the social media platform X, expressing that Sardar Patel wove the country together “into a thread of unity,” creating a solid foundation for modern India. “This statue of the Iron Man, a symbol of struggle and sacrifice for national interest, will continue to inspire everyone as a testament to his unwavering dedication to establishing democratic values in the country,” Shri Shah remarked.

The CRS mobile app, introduced as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative, is designed to integrate technology with governance. This application will allow citizens to register births and deaths from any location, at any time, and in their state’s official language, significantly streamlining the registration process. “This application will make the registration process seamless and hassle-free, reducing the time required for registration,” stated Shah in another post on X.

With this dual initiative — honoring Sardar Patel’s legacy and advancing digital governance — Amit Shah emphasized the government’s commitment to both preserving national values and fostering technological innovation in public service.
