JAMMI, OCT 28: In a suspected terror attack on Monday morning, armed terrorists fired multiple rounds at an Army vehicle in the Akhnoor tehsil of Jammu district.
While no casualties have been reported, security forces have cordoned off the area in Jammu district, initiating an extensive search operation.
According to official sources, the incident occurred around 7 a.m. in the Batal area, where three terrorists reportedly opened fire on the Army vehicle. Quick to respond, security personnel swiftly secured the vicinity and commenced a manhunt for the assailants.
The attack unfolded amid heightened security arrangements across Jammu and Kashmir as authorities ramped up vigilance in anticipation of the Diwali festival season.
In the past week, at least 12 people, including two soldiers, have lost their lives in multiple gunfights, primarily across the Kashmir valley.
On October 24, terrorists ambushed a Army vehicle near Gulmarg in Baramulla district, resulting in the tragic loss of two soldiers and two civilian porters.
