Save Sharda Committee

NEW DELHI, OCT 19:  Members of the Save Sharda Committee, led by its founder and head Ravinder Pandita, on Saturday met with Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (MoS) in the Prime Minister’s Office, in New Delhi to discuss various demands related to the Sharda Temple located at the Line of Control (LoC) in Teetwal, Kashmir.

During the meeting, the committee presented a brochure outlining the Sharda mission and raised key issues requiring attention. Among the demands were the deployment of a two-member fact-finding team to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to assess the condition of the historic Sharda Peeth, the widening of the Chamkote-Teetwal road, and the procurement of land for a Yatri Niwas through the Custodian General. The committee also urged the setting up of a full-body scanner for security, expediting the tendering process for the Sadhna Tunnel, and initiating a bus service from Srinagar to Teetwal for pilgrims.

Dr. Jitendra Singh reviewed the demands point by point and discussed possible redressal measures with the committee, assuring that necessary steps would be considered to address their concerns.
