JAMMU, OCT 18: The Indian Army’s Tiger Division organized a Veterans Outreach Program cum Ex-Servicemen Felicitation Ceremony today in Jammu to honor Gallantry Awardees and Disabled Soldiers for their selfless service to the nation. The event was graced by Lt. Gen. Manoj Kumar Katiyar, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Western Command.

Coordinated in collaboration with the War Wounded Foundation (WWF), the event witnessed the participation of over 250 ex-servicemen. During the ceremony, government officials from the Zila Sainik Board and Nationalized Banks shared information about various government schemes designed for veterans. Additionally, representatives from Indian Army departments such as Record Offices, Department of Indian Army Veterans, Veterans Sahayata Kendra, and Army Welfare Placement Organization were present to address the concerns of ex-servicemen and provide updates on available services.

A team from the Defence Accounts Department was on hand to resolve pension-related issues, while the local Military Hospital attended to the medical needs of the veterans.

Addressing the gathering, Lt. Gen. Katiyar expressed his deep gratitude towards the war veterans for their invaluable contributions to the country. He felicitated the war heroes and presented them with modified scooters and autos, acknowledging their bravery and sacrifice.

Following the formal event, Lt. Gen. Katiyar engaged informally with the veterans, exchanging ideas and views, which helped foster camaraderie and strengthen bonds between the Army and its veterans. The event provided a meaningful platform for ex-servicemen and war heroes to directly interact with government officials, addressing a variety of concerns and issues.
