REASI, SEPT 20: A gunfight erupted between terrorists and security forces in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday evening, according to police sources.
A senior police officer reported that the joint operation was launched based on specific intelligence. “A team of police and security forces initiated a cordon and search operation in the area, acting on reliable information,” the officer said.
The encounter started when the joint team approached the suspected location, and militants opened fire on them, leading to an exchange of gunfire.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), District Police Reasi confirmed the operation, stating, “On receipt of specific intel, an operation was launched around 1300 hours today. Contact has been established in the Shikari area under PS Chassana.”
As of now, there are no reports of casualties, and the operation is ongoing. Further details are awaited.
